Since EOSIF is on polygon/Matic network, we will have to change our wallet network to polygon network. Polygon and Matic are same. This wallet is currently on Ethereum network, so time to change to polygon network. We click the ethereum icon, and then select polygon from the pop-out options
We are selecting polygon network. NOT polygon zkEVM
Once selected, our wallet network icon will change from ethereum network to polygon network. And now, we can proceed to fund our wallet with Matic. You can fund it from your binance, bybit, kucoin or any other source but importantly, fund them using the polygon/matic network. Click the Matic token that is below LUNC
Our wallet is empty. So click Receive, and you will have your public wallet address. This address is what you will be using to receive almost all EVM tokens/coins. That is why, it's important to know which of the EVM network you are using for your transaction. YOU MIGHT LOSE YOUR FUNDS/TOKENS/COINS IF YOU USE THE WRONG NETWORK.
Here, we just copy our wallet public address using that copy icon, and can then paste it on our binance, bybit etc from where we want to send the matic. That's all for the first step which is setting up our web3 wallet
